ICM 1/72 Ki-21-Ia Sally (72205)

This time we are going to talk about ICM 1/72 Ki-21-Ia Sally (72205). New release comes as yet another version of Japanese twin-engine bomber aircraft. Moreover, it looks like there were no decent alternatives for this type, and only now we get it in small scale. There are 163 parts which should assemble into a model with 314mm wingspan. Yes, model will take plenty of space for its scale, but still should be interesting to work on. Let's open the box and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with previous version of the aircraft.

This time we will start with clear frame. All parts look great, and ICM also included masking templates in the assembly manual.

First grey sprue is dedicated to wing halves and interior floor. Tail section won't be used as today's version has slightly different shape.

Both engines are nicely detailed out of the box. Moreover, you can get some aftermarket in order to add more fine features to this area.

Here you can see the new sprue with tail parts. Both halves have guiding elements, so it won't be difficult to get them together.

Another side of the wing can be found on the next frame. Flaps are molded in, while ailerons are separate here.

Fuselage halves come on two separate frames. External features look good, and interior is also nice. Note that door is molded shut here.

Decals sheet is not that big, but include all necessary symbols for four markings which you can see on the photo below. There are also some cockpit decals as well.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New aircraft looks like yet another great release from ICM. In my opinion it is an interesting project for all fans of the small scale models. Out of the box it looks good and offers a lot of features. Moreover, you can also get aftermarket for even more interesting appearance. The only thing which I would like to have included for such build is the aircraft stand so that it would be easier to display the finished bomber. :)
