ICM 1/35 UNIMOG S404 Koffer (35136)

This time we are going to check ICM 1/35 UNIMOG S404 Koffer (35136). New release offers us a chance to build another version of the famous German truck. It is still molded in popular scale, so you can even plan some diorama build with the car. Packaging is typical for this brand, all frames come in one bag. There are 288 parts which should assemble into a model with 149mm length. Let's open everything and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with the previous version of this truck.

You can help us get the new camera - just press "Donate" button on the right panel.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer.

We can start with the new frame. Here you will find panels for the rear section of the truck. All doors are molded shut.

Next frame is full of small parts for external and internal features. This is a good reminder that even though scale is big, you will still have to deal with thin parts.

It is interesting to see that standard package actually features a lot of extras. Again, thin parts might require plastic saw usage.

Note that front mask features Mercedes logo, just like on the real truck. Exhaust comes as one-piece section which should be easier to install.

Here you can see two large bars for the chassis as well as some roof parts. Even though bonnet panel is molded separately, ICM doesn't show such assembly option in the manual.

Wheel rims come on the separate frame. Parts look fine, but we all know that it also means vinyl tires.

For this element I would recommend to use it only for standard builds. In other cases it is better to get a resin replacement for better appearance.

Clear frames are packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, so they will make a nice addition to your truck build.

Decals sheet is not that big, but carries all necessary symbols. Assembly manual is typical for ICM, and I show all pages in the video-review.

Of course, some modelers would be happy to see the interior in the rear section as well. In my opinion it might be a good thing for extra work, but here we get a sleek kit which should be easier to build. Moreover, don't forget that doors are molded shut, so interior can be seen only through the windows. Boxart actually gives a good idea for that - close the clear sections with "curtains". As usual, final choice will be after you.
