Arma Hobby 1/72 Sea Hurricane Mk.I (70061)

This review is dedicated to Arma Hobby 1/72 Sea Hurricane Mk.I (70061). Aircraft comes as yet another version of the famous British fighter in small scale. Note that box features note about 3D printed parts which should be used to replicate some of the new features. Packaging is typical here, so let's open it and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with another Hurricane from the same brand.

There are two frames in the kit, so we are going to start with the biggest one. Here you will find wing halves as well as fuselage parts. External features look good in such small model, so be sure not to lose them under primer and paint coats.

Second frame is noticeably smaller and features various parts. Note that pilot seat comes as single-piece part, what should make it easier to install.

It is a bit surprising that all parts for the "sea" version come as 3D-printed block. Such thing would give you finer features and looks like a smart solution.

Clear frame is packed together with other frames. Molding quality looks great, and you can replicate open cockpit.

Masks are included into this kit, so it should be easy to get a nice paint finish.

Decals sheet is printed in Techmod, and it means quality looks good. Note that we also get stencils and even some cockpit decals. All markings can be seen on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for Arma Hobby. You can check all pages in the video-review.

New kit should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great choice for those who would like to build a decent copy of the famous aircraft in the small scale. Moreover, manufacturer included all necessary things in the standard package. I have no doubt that we will see some aftermarket, but even standard release look great. 3D-printed parts here is a good example of how the new technology helps in our hobby. Let's see how it will be applied next time. :)

Pros

  • Nice molding quality
  • Clever parts division
  • Good decals
  • 3D parts included

Cons

  • Small scale might be tricky for some modellers
