ICM 1/35 Mobile Brigade West (DS3517)

This time we are going to talk about ICM 1/35 Mobile Brigade West (DS3517). One box combines several vehicles in the same scale. Of course, you can combine them into diorama project or just build as solo projects. Packaging is typical here. There are 245 parts for assembly of Marder I on FCM 36 base, 211 parts for Laffly vehicle and 295 parts for 10.5cm leFH on FCM 36 base. Let's open all this items and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with another combo-set from the same brand.

Both AFV on FCM 36 base are different only in terms of the gun installed, so we are going to check only one of them. This will give you understanding of what to expect.

First frame is dedicated to drivetrain parts and suspension. You can also see here some pioneer tools.

Each vehicle of this type will include some ammo out of the box. Such thing should be useful for a bit more convincing appearance of your project.

Hull should be glued out of separate panels. Be sure to dry-fit them in order to get the best alignment.

Yes, vinyl tracks are still here. I would recommend to replace them with some aftermarket for a better appearance of your model.

Main gun should be glued out of two halves, so be careful in this process. Overall molding quality looks fine and should be easy to work with.

Clear frame is not that big, but carries all necessary parts.

Last frame for this model carries top hull section which is molded as single-piece. As there is no interior, hatches are molded in shut position.

Next we see parts for the Laffly vehicle. All the parts are the same as you saw in "solo" release. Here you can see folded roof and some suspension elements.

Kit features both vinyl and plastic roadwheels. Be careful with sear parts as support frames are very thin.

Bonnet panels come molded shut, but with some scratchbuilding you should be able to replicate an open version. Of course, it will come handy in order to expose the engine inside.

All other large panels come on the last grey frame. Overall molding quality looks great. On the photo below you can see vinyl tires.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. You can check all pages in the video-review.

Whole combo looks like an impressive package from ICM. Not only it manages to offer three kits at once, but also you get a good chance to save a bit on such efficient offer. Moreover, all models should look nice out of the box, and I think they will be interesting for any modeler without any skills requirement. Of course, there is also some space for additional details, but it will require more investment. It might be wise to add some figures here for even more impressive look.
