Eduard 1/48 Fw 190A-8 Weekend (84116)

This time we have a chance to take a look at Eduard 1/48 Fw 190A-8 Weekend (84116). As you can guess, new kit copies the famous German fighter aircraft in popular scale. Moreover, it should be offered for a bit more accessible price, so it might be attractive for some modelers. Aircraft itself doesn't need an extra introduction as this is one of the main types which flew during WW2. Packaging is typical, so let's open all these bags and check everything together.
By the way, here you can read review with another German fighter aircraft.

We are going to start with large frame which can be found in other Fw 190A releases. Here you get some cockpit parts as well as landing gear elements.

Second frame might be also familiar if you assembled Fw 190A from Eduard. The most notable things here - several versions of the main wheel wells and cockpit floors.

Tailwings and elevators are molded separately, such feature might be handy for some diorama ideas.

Wing design is typical - two top panels and one bottom. Note that flaps are premolded and you will have to buy a separate PE set in order to have them in dropped position.

Both fuselage halves are molded with tail fins, but rudder and front cowling section are separate parts. Inside you will find guiding elements for easier installation.

Clear frame comes in the separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, but masks should be bought separately.

Decals are printed in Eduard. Overall quality looks good and on the first sheet you will find some cockpit decals.

Second sheet is dedicated to stencils. You can see all markings on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New kit comes as a nice addition to Fw 190 lineup from Eduard. It is still made in nice quality and short turn into a good model in popular scale. For some modelers it will be enough to get what is included in Weekend Edition. Nevertheless, you should also remember that Eduard offers a huge accessories line with various add-ons. Such thing should be useful for even more impressive result in your project.
