ICM 1/32 Yak-9K (32091)

This review is dedicated to ICM 1/32 Yak-9K (32091). New release comes as yet another version of the Soviet fighter in big scale. As you can notice, today's aircraft is different from the previous, as it features large cannon installed in the engine. Packaging is typical for this brand, and all parts come in one plastic bag. There are 175 parts which should assemble into a model with 305mm wingspan. Let's open everything and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with another fresh release.

First frame is dedicated to mix of parts. Here you will find landing gear, tailwings and even engine. Yes, engine can be exposed if you will choose the open bonnet assembly option.

Fuselage halves can be found on the next sprue. Both are molded together with tail fin, but without top cowling cover. It is good to see this part as one-piece element.

ICM gives a lot of things out of the box, so both cockpit and engine bay should look detailed. Of course, you can also get some aftermarket PE for even better appearance.

These are the cockpit frames. Both are molded as single-piece elements, so you won't have to deal with separate tabs or bars.

New cannon comes on the separate frame. Even though it should be glued out of two parts, the muzzle break comes as single-piece element.

Wing parts come in typical design - two top panels and one bottom. Note that ailerons are separate here, while flaps are molded in.

Clear frame comes in the separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks good and you will find masking template in the assembly manual.

Decals sheet is not that big, but you will get all necessary symbols here. Printing quality looks fine. Assembly manual is typical for this brand, and you can check all pages in the video-review.

New version should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is as good as the previous release. Moreover, there is no doubt that we will see aftermarket add-ons for this model. Big scale makes it a bit more attractive for some modelers, and out of the box you will get a lot of stuff. The only thing required from you is to choose the camouflage and assemble everything together. :)
