Arma Hobby 1/72 P-39Q Airacobra (70055)

This time we are going to talk about Arma Hobby 1/72 P-39Q Airacobra (70055). Kit comes as completely new release from the famous Polish brand. It is a new-tooled plastic which was created with help of modern technologies and has all the chances to become your main choice in this scale. P-39Q doesn't require an extra introduction in my opinion. This unusual design is easy to recognize and now we can copy it in the small scale. Packaging is typical for this brand, so all frames come in one plastic bag together with some other items. Let's open them and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with Wildcat model in the same scale.

There are two frames in the kit. On the first one you will find mix of various parts - lower wing panel, tail surfaces, propeller, exhausts, some cockpit parts and even bombs.

All these parts have guiding elements inside, which should come handy during the assembly. Overall molding quality looks fine.

Surface details include recessed panel lines and rivets. Nevertheless, those are not so deep, so you will have to be careful with layers of paint and primer.

Second frame is also literally filled with parts. Note that frame bars are a bit thicker than what we saw in previous Arma Hobby releases.

Inside you can expect nice interior features, which should look great even in out-of-the-box build. Some areas might require a bit of modification per assembly manual.

Both fuselage halves are molded without tail fin. External features are on the same level as what we saw on the wing.

Clear frame comes in the separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, and masks are included into the kit. Yes, doors are molded separately, so you can open them in order to expose the cockpit.

This item deserves a separate photo. In my opinion Arma Hobby does the right thing by including the necessary metal weights in the box. This way you shouldn't be worried about possible "tail sitter".

Decals sheet is printed in Techmod, so you shouldn't be worried about possible quality issues. You can see all markings on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New Airacobra has all the changes to take the leading position in 1/72 scale. In my opinion there are no rivals on the market, which can offer the same quality and attention to details. Out of the box you will get quite good-looking kit, and it can be assembled into a nice copy of the famous aircraft. I have no doubt that this P-39 will get some aftermarket too, so experienced modelers will have something to add. The only question is what we will see next. :D
