ICM 1/32 I-16 Type 17 (32005)

Today I would like to tell you more about new ICM 1/32 I-16 Type 17 (32005). This is a big scale kit from the famous Ukrainian model manufacturer. I guess real aircraft doesn't need an extra introduction, so we can proceed to the plastic kit. Packaging is typical for ICM, frames are secured in one plastic bag. There are 141 parts which should assemble into a model with 282mm wingspan. Let's open it and take a closer look together.

First frame is dedicated to fuselage halves. Both are molded with tail fin, but without cowling. Landing gear wheels look fine, but I would recommend to find a resin replacement for more features.

Yes, here we have another fuselage half, which should come handy for a different aircraft version. Note also main wheel wells which molded together with lower wing half.

Surprisingly there are also some parts for winter version, but we won't need them in this build.

Parts count might look small, but ICM managed to include a nice engine and cockpit. These things are quite important in 1/32 scale.

It is great to see one-piece front cowling section. Such design should make it easier to avoid unnecessary gaps and seams.

Clear frame comes in the separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, but there are no masks included here.

Decals sheet is not that big, but you will find all necessary symbols there. Assembly manual is typical for ICM, and I show all pages in the video-review.

New "Ishak" should be already available for purchase. In my opinion this kit is a great opportunity to work in big scale and avoid some crazy parts count. Moreover, it comes in a great quality, so I don't think you will encounter any issues. The only thing I might recommend - check some aftermarket add-ons, as upgrades will be noticeable in such big project. :)
