Eduard 1/48 Spitfire Mk.IXc Weekend (84183)

Today we are going to check Eduard 1/48 Spitfire Mk.IXc Weekend (84183). New release comes as yet another boxing of the famous British aircraft in popular scale. As usual, Weekend Edition doesn't feature any additional bonuses, but also offers a bit more accessible price. Packaging is typical here, so let's open the box and take a closer look at parts.
By the way, here you can read review with MiG-15 in the same scale.

First frame is dedicated to mix of various parts. Here you will find tail fairing as well as cockpit elements. Don't forget that whole cockpit can be replaced with Brassin set.

Next sprue packs several types of landing gear wheels, exhausts and gun barrels. Be sure to pick the right version suitable for your marking.

Two fuselage halves are molded together with tail fin, but without rudder. Chin panel and top cowling panel should be glued out of two halves.

Wing is divided into three large parts. Flaps are premolded and you will have to get PE set if you want to have them in dropped position.

Clear frame is packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, but this is a Weekend Edition kit, so there are no masks included.

Decals are printed in Eduard, so you don't have to worry about printing quality. Note also cockpit decals - seatbelts and instrument panel. All four markings can be seen on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. You can check all pages in the video-review.

New kit should be already available for purchase. In my opinion this is a perfect choice for modelers who would like to build model without any additional things. Moreover, it is also a good option for detailed builds, as you can add whatever you would like to see on your Spitfire. Plastic is well-known today and can be considered as one of the best on the market. It is easy to build, so I don't think you will have any issues here.
Get this and other kits on official Eduard website.

Pros

  • Nice molding quality
  • Clever parts division
  • Good decals
  • Huge choice of original accessories

  • No masks included
