Eduard 1/72 MiG-15 Weekend (7459)

This time we are going to talk about Eduard 1/72 MiG-15 Weekend (7459). Maybe some of you remember this kit and even built it already. Nevertheless, it was out of sale for some time and now returns back in the new boxing. Note that we deal with Weekend Edition today, so there are no masks or PE parts inside. Packaging is typical for this brand, so without further ado, let's open the box and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with Weekend model in bigger scale.

We are going to start with frame which carries mix of various parts. Here you will find landing gear panels and wheels as well as cockpit walls.

Each wing should be glued out of two halves. Note that flaps are premolded and you will have to buy special PE set if you would like to have them in retracted position.

Both fuselage halves are molded together with tail fin. Note that rudder is separate here. Kit also features wide choice of external equipment for the aircraft.

Clear frame comes in the separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, but there are no masks included as we deal with Weekend Edition kit.

Decals come from Eduard, so you don't have to worry about printing quality. Yes, all those stencils should be applied, be ready to work with tiny symbols. All markings can be seen on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. You can check all pages in the video-review.

Small MiG should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great choice for those who would like to build a copy of the famous Soviet jet. I can assure you that even Weekend Edition should look great without any additional upgrades. Nevertheless, it is worth investing into accessories if you would like to get even more features on such tiny project. Small size might be a problem for some older modelers, so keep this in mind before choosing today's model.

Pros

  • Nice molding quality
  • Clever parts division
  • Great decals and markings

Cons

  • No masks included
  • Might be tricky for older modelers
  • Still no 1/48 version
