ICM 1/32 CR.42 CN (32024)

This time we are going to talk about ICM 1/32 CR.42 CN (32024). As you can guess, we have yet another version of the Italian biplane in big scale. Today's plastic will give you a chance to assemble night fighter with four markings in the box. Packaging is standard for this brand, all frames come in the same plastic bag. There are 178 parts which should assemble into model with 303mm wingspan. Let's open this box and take a closer look together.

We are going to start with the frame which is dedicated to mix of various parts. Here you will find lower wing halves and engine elements.

Next we continue with parts for the landing gear as well as one-piece propeller. It is good to have such large part molded as single-piece.

Landing gear fairings come on the next frame. Molding quality looks great, so you just have to carefully glue them together.

Top wing should be assembled out of two halves. Note that ailerons are still designed as separate parts. Here you will also find tailwings and cockpit floor.

Both fuselage halves are molded with tail fin. Rudder and cowling should be assembled separately. Landing gear wheels are divided into two halves, so I recommend to find resin replacement.

Last sprue carries special parts for the night version. Here you will find exhausts in several versions.

Clear frames are packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks nice.

Decals sheet can be found in the assembly manual. Printing quality looks fine, and there are several decals for the cockpit. You can check all markings on the photo below.

New biplane should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is as good as recent large scale releases from ICM. In one box you will get all necessary parts for a nice out-of-the-box build. Keep in mind that we are dealing with biplane here, so you will have to be careful while assembling everything together. Moreover, I think that current aftermarket should work with this release, so you would have an option of adding something extra to your model.
