ICM 1/32 J-8 Gladiator (32044)

Today's article is dedicated to ICM 1/32 J-8 Gladiator (32044). As you can guess, we get a new version of the British biplane in large scale. This time it is possible to copy aircraft on skies. Packaging is typical for this brand, and all frames come packed into one plastic bag. Assembled model won't be too big. Wingspan will be 307mm and there are 141 parts to assemble together. Let's open them and take a closer look.
By the way, here you can read review with big helicopter kit.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts closer.

We are going to start with fuselage halves. Both are molded together with tail fin, but rudder is separate. The same can be said about cowling, you can see panels on the photo below.

Top wing and tail surfaces should be glued out of two halves. There are guiding pins inside which should make the whole assemble process a bit easier.

More cowling parts can be found on the next frame. Note also the engine which should be quite nice out of the box. I recommend to spend time painting and weathering it.

Top wing also comes without ailerons. External surface looks nice, so it is just a matter of careful painting and weathering.

Last grey plastic sprue is completely new. Here we will find parts needed for the winter version of the aircraft.

Clear frame is packed into separate plastic bag. It can be assembled in open position and there is a masks template included in the manual.

Decals sheet looks fine and should be easy to work with. On the photo below you can check all marking options.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New kit comes as nice addition to Gladiator line from ICM. Model looks like a great build for modelers who would like to assemble a winter version of this aircraft. Moreover, I think that current aftermarket should work with this kit, so you will get even more detailed build. Of course, if you are willing to spend a bit more. Rigging might be tricky, and because of this I would rather recommend new kit for experienced modelers.
