Smer 1/24 Alfa Romeo Alfetta 1950 (0952)
This time we are going to talk about Smer 1/24 Alfa Romeo Alfetta 1950 (0952). Yes, some of you might know and even built this kit already, but it is still interesting to revisit and see what is included in the small box. Me myself assembled this kit when I was coming back to the hobby, but now there are several upgrade sets available, and it can be a good reason to build another one and compare. Overall packaging is rather simple, and all frames are sealed into one plastic bag. Let's open them all and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with another classic in the same scale.

Watch this video where I show all parts even closer.
Once again - this is quite an old kit, and one look at all parts should be enough to understand this. Nevertheless, we get the separate bonnet and one-piece top section what should help with overall appearance.
Next parts section includes roadwheels, wheel axle and exhaust. Those look simple, and wheels now can be replaced with aftermarket.
Overall molding quality is okay, but there is plenty of space to play with paintwork and overall finish of the elements. Note that wheel axles are rather simple and fixed in straight position.
Next we see instrument panel, floor for the car body and one-piece driver seat. It might be a good idea to find some reference photos in order to get more from the interior.
Front mask is molded as one-piece element which should be installed separately. This also makes it easy to be replaced with aftermarket, as now you can get a 3D-printed part.
Yes, spokes on wheels are replicated with clear parts, what is not exactly convincing method overall.
Decals sheet is not that big, but you will get all necessary symbols here. Printing quality looks fine.
Dimensions of the finished model are not that big and should be easy to work with. Assembly manual comes in black-and-white, you can check all pages in the video-review.
Alfetta should be available in all good model shops. In my opinion it is a great choice for those who would like to build something different from all those modern supercars. Yes, this is not exactly fresh kit, but you still can get really nice result out of all those parts. Moreover, with new aftermarket you can build even more sophisticated car, and total amount spent still won't break the bank. :)
Thank you for your help in getting this one for the review!Pros
- Very affordable
- Quick to build
- Good decals
Cons
- Requires plenty of improvements
- Old plastic and few features
