Tamiya 1/24 Lotus Super 7 Series II (357)

Today we are going to talk about Tamiya 1/24 Lotus Super 7 Series II (357). Kit comes as reissue of the original model which came out long time ago. There are several bonuses inside which should help you add more features to the old plastic. As for the car itself, I think it doesn't need an extra introduction because this model is very famous among car enthusiasts. Packaging is typical here, so all parts come in the separate plastic bags. Let's open them and take a closer look together.

We are going to start with the biggest frame here. Age of this plastic is visible at the first sight, but parts still look fine and should be easy to work with. Note that even frontal section of the bonnet is molded as one-piece element.

Kit offers two versions to assemble - racing or road one. On the second frame you can also notice suspension parts as well as brake rotors molded together with calipers.

Clear frame looks great out of the box and carries parts for two versions. There are no masks included in this kit.

Chrome parts look nice out of the box and will be used for wheels on your car. PE fret is something new for fine features on your model.

There are also several metal parts for an engine. Vinyl tires look simple, and that makes me wonder if there is an aftermarket available.

Another new addition - seatbelts which should be combined with PE buckles. Decals sheet looks fine and carries all necessary symbols. Assembly manual is typical for Tamiya, and you can check all pages in the video-review.

This car should be already available for purchase in all good model shops. In my opinion it might be old, but it still looks fine for a nice project in popular scale. Moreover, Lotus is a great thing to customize, so you can think about adding something on the car. It is nice to see some extra bonuses included as those will be noticeable and will add fine details to the model.
THANK YOU FOR DONATIONS WHICH MADE THIS REVIEW POSSIBLE!

  • Good molding quality
