Miniart 1/48 P-47D-20RA Thunderbolt Saipan 1944 (48043)

This time I will tell you more about Miniart 1/48 P-47D-20RA Thunderbolt Saipan 1944 (48043). New release comes as yet another version of the famous "Jug". It is molded in popular scale and might be interesting for modelers who would like to copy Razorback type. Today's edition comes as "Advanced Kit", what means some additional parts and assembly options inside. I reviewed the previous releases, and it will be interesting to see what is new here. Overall packaging is typical for the brand, all frames are sealed into one bag. Let's open them all and take a closer look together.

First frame is one of the biggest in the kit. Here you will find wing mechanisation as well as tailwings and some cowling sections. Smaller frames carry cockpit parts and propeller halves.

Miniart is quite generous with external equipment, so you will get wide choice of items here. Overall quality looks great straight out of the box.

Those wing parts are special for Advanced version as they give you a chance to open gun bays. Such a feature might be handy in 1/48 scale.

Here you can see the "standard" top wing halves. It is your decision whether to use parts to open both sides or maybe just to show one side.

Both fuselage halves are molded together with tail fin. They feature nice external details which include recessed panel lines and riveting.

Clear frame is packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, but Miniart doesn't include masks, so you will have to get them separately.

Unpainted PE fret is yet another bonus of today's version. I recommend to use all parts for even better final result.

Cartograf decals look great out of the box. Here you will find all necessary symbols for four markings. All options can be seen on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New Thunderbolt should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is another great offering in popular scale. Overall quality looks great, and you get all necessary things in one box. The only thing that I still wish to see is the masks for such a canopy. Moreover, it could be cool to make new releases different by including the special stand to display aircraft in flight position. :)
