Tamiya 1/24 Honda Prelude BF1 (373)

This article will tell you more about Tamiya 1/24 Honda Prelude BF1 (373). New kit comes as a fresh plastic from the famous manufacturer. Car itself is also completely new as it was presented relatively recently and just going for sale. Whole set is molded in popular scale and promises some interesting features out of the box. Overall packaging is typical for Tamiya, so all frames are packed into separate plastic bags. Let's open them all and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with racing Honda in the same scale.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer.

We are going to start with black sprue first. Here you can see large interior floor panel, seat inserts and some minor interior elements.

Door cards and dashboard feature nice details, but will require some precise paintwork and maybe even masking.

Next sprue is molded in white color, so here we get mostly external bits like the floor panel, rear hatch and even luggage. Yes, those bags will be handy to display in the car even with the closed trunk.

Another black frame is filled with suspension parts and exhaust section. Overall parts division looks fine and should be easy to work with.

Car body shell is molded as one-piece element without front and rear bumpers. Panel lines are deep enough for a nice result.

Doors are molded in, but at least rear hatch is separate and can be opened on your model.

Both bumpers are molded together with wheel rims. Overall molding quality looks great and should look fine on the model as well.

Clear frame is packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, and there are even masks which can be seen on the photo below.

Note that masks are not only for the windows, but also for headlamps and taillights.

Vinyl tires are typical for such kit. Wheels replacement can be the first option to enhance appearance of your car.

Chrome stickers are also here and include badges and mirrors.

Decals sheet is not that big, and features mostly interior decals. Printing quality looks fine, you can see one of the options on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New kit should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great choice for all fans of Japanese coupes in popular scale. Out of the box you will get all necessary things and even some extras in form of luggage. Assembly shouldn't be difficult either, so whole set can be recommended to beginners too. I still wonder if we will see some aftermarket for this kit as some areas definitely can be improved with add-ons.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATIONS WHICH MADE THIS REVIEW POSSIBLE!
