ICM 1/35 Montgomery's Office with Staff (35604)

This review will tell you more about ICM 1/35 Montgomery's Office with Staff (35604). As you can guess from the name and boxart, one box brings truck and soldiers together. This can be a good starter for some diorama project in popular scale. It should be noted that both sets were released as separate products, but now they come together for a bit more efficient price. Overall packaging is typical, kits are separated into two bags. There are 436 parts for Leyland Retriever and 31 parts for four figurines. Assembled model will measure 202mm in length. Let's open all the parts and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with another WW2 truck in the same scale.

I suggest we start with figurines which are molded on the separate frame. Overall parts division is typical for this scale and should be familiar to modelers who already assembled some figures from ICM.

All other frames are for the truck, and on the first one you will find suspension parts. Overall quality looks great for this scale and deserves a nice paintwork.

Today's "office" version should be assembled out of several panels. Be sure to check the alignment of those large parts and you will have a good-looking result.

Note that interior and exterior panels are molded separately. On the photo above you can see outer walls, while the shot below shows the inner parts.

There are also separate entrance doors and plenty of the furniture to install inside. Moreover, ICM supplies some cutouts which will copy the carpet in the office.

All furniture looks great and deserves a proper paintwork. In some cases it might be worth thinking on how to paint items in advance.

Some parts are quite tiny in their size, so be sure to have good tweezers for assembly.

Engine is also in the standard package. It might be worth thinking on how to make it visible on the finished model.

Wheel rims are molded on the separate frame. Surface features look fine, and might be picked out with help of washes.

More of the parts for the office come in form of large roof panel and some interior bits. Attachment points should be easy to separate.

Vinyl tires is something you won't be able to avoid in this project. Well, unless you will find some aftermarket replacement.

Whole chassis should be assembled out of separate bars, so take your time and check alignment between those.

Front cab will be also nicely detailed in this kit.

Clear parts are packed into separate plastic bags. Molding quality looks great, but there are no masks in the set.

Unpainted PE parts will come handy for the radiator grille on your truck. This is unusual bonus for ICM, but it should add noticeable difference.

Decals sheet is not that big, but here you will find not only external symbols, but also some of the interior items. Printing quality looks great. Assembly manual is typical for this brand, and I show all pages in the video-review.

New truck combo should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great choice for some diorama in 1/35 scale. Amount of standard features is truly impressive and painting all of the items inside office will take some time for sure. Another idea for the build is to add some leds for evening scene, but this is already something requiring experience from you. Overall I like what is packed here, and diorama base should be not that hard to design.
