In this article we are going to talk about Arma Hobby 1/48 Hurricane Mk.IIb Trop (40008). New set continues line of nice British aircraft models from the well-known brand. Yes, it is molded in bigger scale and offers more details out of the box. Nevertheless, it is always interesting to see what the new version has to offer. Packaging is typical here, so all parts come in one bag. Let's open everything and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with another version in the same scale.

Watch this video where I show all parts even closer.
First frame is dedicated to fuselage halves and some of the external weapons. Note that lower tail section of the fuselage is molded as separate panel.
Both fuselage halves are molded together with top cowling section, but without tail fin. External features look great and should add to appearance of the finished model.
Second frame is dedicated to mix of cockpit and external parts. Here you will find another lower tail section as well as tailwings and even cockpit walls. All those thing are molded in a nice quality.
Both wing parts come on the third and final grey plastic frame. Note that there are only two parts to combine. Unfortunately, the flaps and ailerons are premolded.
Nevertheless, external features look great and deserve a nice weathering. Main wheel wells should be assembled separately.
Clear frame is packed into a separate plastic bag. Molding quality is great, and you can copy the open canopy on your model.
Arma Hobby also supplies pre-cut masks, which might be useful not only for the canopy, but also for the landing gear wheels.
Decals are printed in Techmod, so printing quality looks great and should be easy to work with. There are also some cockpit decals for fine features inside aircraft. You can see all three options on the photo below.
Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.
New set should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is an interesting choice for modelers who would like to build this famous aircraft, but were waiting for the bigger scale to be offered. Here you will get nice features out of the box together with some additional items which will speed up the assembly. Moreover, you can get some aftermarket, but I think that even the standard build should look gorgeous in the finished form.
