ICM 1/24 Ford Model A Standard Phaeton Soft Top (24050)

This review is dedicated to ICM 1/24 Ford Model A Standard Phaeton Soft Top (24050). New plastic set copies quite famous American car in popular scale. I checked some car sets from ICM before, so it will be interesting to see how the new vehicle is copied. There are 203 parts inside and finished model should measure 160mm length. Packaging is typical for this brand, so let's open the box and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with Model T Truck in the same scale.

Watch this video where I show all parts even closer.

We start with the first frame which is dedicated to various suspension and engine parts. Overall quality looks fine, but some parts are quite small.

Spoke wheels should be assembled out of several sections. Such design should work nicely in 1/24 scale, but some professionals might try to replace plastic with metal wire.

Roof will be in closed position. Note that all internal structure is also replicated out of the box and should be visible on the finished model.

Bonnet panels come together with radiator grille and exhaust. Silencer should be glued out of two halves.

Even though ICM suggests closed bonnet version in the assembly manual, you can see that there is a special line to cut panels separately.

Car body should be glued out of separate panels. Overall design is quite typical for this type of the vehicle.

Doors are premolded, so you won't be able to open them on your model.

Fenders are molded separately for each side. Note also parts for the engine which is included here.

Clear frame is packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, and there are masking templates included.

Vinyl tires is not something to be proud of, but such parts should be enough for standard build. Who knows, maybe we will also see 3D-printed wheels from some aftermarket brand.

Decals sheet is not that big, but carries all necessary symbols and several types of license plates. Printing quality is quite good.

You can see suggested markings on the photo above. Note that ICM also produces special paints set for this car kit.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New Ford should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is an interesting choice for modelers who would like to work on some classic car in popular scale. Moreover, amount of features out of the box is really impressive. The only thing that you might try to change is the wheels, and I hope there will be some 3D-printed alternatives. Also be ready to work with chrome coating as Ford Model A had a lot of elements with such finish. :)
