Airfix 1/35 Ferret Scout Car Mk.2 (A1379)

This time we are going to talk about Airfix 1/35 Ferret Scout Car Mk.2 (A1379). New set comes as new-tooled plastic from the well-known British manufacturer. Moreover, it is a first time we check kit from this brand, so it will be interesting to see what is included inside. Ferret itself might be an interesting subject for those who would like to assemble some cold war diorama. Well, even boxart hints at this idea. Box size is not that big, and you will find all green-colored frames sealed into one plastic bag. Let's open them and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with British lorry kit in the same scale.

Watch this video where I show all parts even closer.

First frame carries mix of parts. Here you will find external elements as well as some minor items to be placed on the car. Jerry cans should be glued out of two halves.

Turret should be assembled out of separate panels. Note that main machine gun barrel is molded as single-piece part. I think we will also see some aftermarket for this part of the vehicle.

Well, main hull follows the same design - separate panels with guiding elements inside. Note that many hatches are molded separately and can be opened if necessary.

If you wonder if there will be an emptiness inside - there is an answer on the photo above. Yes, there is interior, even though not complete, because kit doesn't include the engine.

I am glad to see the plastic wheels here. Nevertheless, Airfix didn't use this opportunity to have more features on the tire walls. Suspension also should be nice out of the box.

Clear frame was packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, but there are no masks included.

There is no mention on where decals were printed, but overall quality looks good. Airfix shows all three marking options on the side of the box.

Assembly manual is printed in form of large brochure. I show all pages in the video-review.

New vehicle kit should be already available in all good model shops. In my opinion this kit looks nice for its price. Moreover, it might be even beginners friendly as there are no difficult design solutions. Note that interior will give you a chance to place figurines in the vehicle, as we have interior parts out of the box. Some modelers would be happy to see engine included as well, but who knows, maybe some aftermarket brand will release their set to fix it. :)
