Border Model 1/72 Tiger I Early (TK7203)

Today we are going to take a look at Border Model 1/72 Tiger I Early (TK7203). New kit comes in small scale and might be interesting for all fans of the German armor. Moreover, Chinese manufacturer promises a lot of features and some bonuses in the standard package. Yes, we have a lot of Tiger I models already available, but it was interesting to see what can be offered with help of modern technologies. Packaging is typical for this brand, so all frames come in separate plastic bags. Let's open them and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with Tiger II in the same scale.

We are going to start with the sprue "B" which is dedicated to roadwheels. Well, overall amount is quite impressive and it will be quite an experience to get those together.

Drive sprockets are attached in between teeth, so it is important to be careful here. Overall molding quality looks clean and nice without any extra problems.

Kit offers several versions of the mantlet cover. Those look great and deserve some weathering for even more realistic appearance.

On some parts you will have to pay attention to attachment points so that you get the right element.

Turret should be glued out of several panels, all hatches are molded separately and can be opened. Main gun barrel looks great out of the box, but here we will replace it with metal upgrade.

Lower hull section comes as single-piece part. All suspension arms are here as well, so you get the right alignment out of the box.

Plastic tracks are must-have in this scale. Yes, separate links might be tricky to work with, but final result is worth it.

Top hull is also separated into several panels. Towing cables are molded as single-piece parts and ready to be placed on the hull.

Here you can see all the bonuses which come in the box. Unpainted PE fret will come handy for engine bay meshes and some minor elements. Metal barrel will definitely upgrade the looks thanks to 3D-printed muzzle brake. Decals look good and offer you a choice between four markings.

Some of the features are shown on the side of the box. Assembly manual is printed in color, and you can check all pages in the video-review.

New tank model should be already available for purchase in all good model shops. In my opinion it looks like an interesting choice for modelers who prefer the smaller scale. Modern molding technologies give us even more impressive features in the standard package. There are also useful bonuses which are handy even in this size. Of course, you can add even more with help of scratch-building and research. Markings also look good, so overall it is definitely a recommended kit for all fans of WW2 armor in small scale.
