ICM 1/48 Bristol Beaufort Mk.IA with Tropical Filters (48311)

This time we are going to talk about ICM 1/48 Bristol Beaufort Mk.IA with Tropical Filters (48311). Kit comes as yet another version of the British aircraft. Mk.Ia is notable for its improved design and today's model also offers us a chance to copy the special air intake filters. Packaging is typical, so all frames come in bag. There are 240 parts which should assemble into a model with 368mm wingspan. Let's open this box and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with previous version of this aircraft.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer.

We are going to start with wing panels. Each side should be glued out of two halves and fixed on large spars in the fuselage.

Cowlings should be glued out of two halves. There are guiding pins, but I would still recommend on working on the smooth connection between them.

Ths sprue carries some of the cockpit parts as well as several types of flaps. Note that interior walls will also serve as wing supports.

Today's kit also features torpedo on the cart, which can be displayed beside the aircraft. Right frame is specific for Mk.IA version which we are checking today. Here you can see the new turret and some dust filters.

Next sprue comes in pair. Here you can see landing gear wheels, one-piece propeller and engine parts. The latter is surprisingly detailed out of the box.

Both fuselage halves can be found on the last frame. As you can notice, they are molded with tail fins. There are guiding pins inside, but panel lines are not deep, so be careful while working with those.

Clear frame is packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great and you will find masking templates in the assembly manual.

Decals sheet is not that big even though here you will get all necessary symbols for four marking options. You can see them all on the photo below.

Assembly manual comes in form of large color-printed brochure. You can check all pages in the video-review.

New aircraft should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great option for those who would like to build the famous Beaufort in 1/48 scale. I would also expect a lot of aftermarket as there are some opportunities for adding more details. Of course, decals set might help as well. :)
