ICM 1/48 Gotha Go 242A (48226)

Today's review will tell you more about ICM 1/48 Gotha Go 242A (48226). Kit comes as yet another version of the famous German glider in popular scale. Initial release looked good, so it will be interesting to see what is offered here. Packaging is typical for ICM, so all parts are packed into one bag. There are 214 parts which should assemble into a model with 513mm wingspan. Let's open this box and take a closer look together.

Watch this video, where I show all parts even closer.

Here you can see wing halves and some of the tail section panels. Overall external features look good and should be fun to bring out with help of preshading.

Next we see some sections of the internal structure for this glider. You will actually have to build whole aircraft around these.

ICM used smart design here, so each strut comes in special section and should make it easier to assemble everything together.

Wing mechanization comes separately, and this is useful for such large model. Note that all of them feature convincing external details.

Here you can see the front panels of the fuselage and another pair of wing parts.

This sprue comes in two pieces. Landing gear wheels look fine for out of the box build. It is also good that all internal seats are included.

Last grey plastic sprue brings us tail halves and more fuselage panels. Note that rudders are separate here.

Clear frame comes in the separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks good, and there is a masking template in the assembly manual.

All decals come on one sheet. Printing quality looks great, and you just have to carefully apply all of them. Four markings can be seen on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

Kit comes as yet another great kit from ICM. In my opinion it should be interesting to build, but you have to make sure to have the necessary skills. Overall design looks good, and maybe it would be nice to add some aftermarket PE. Keep in mind that such large project is definitely not suitable for beginners, so it would be wise to learn the necessary things before going here. Moreover, I wonder if we would see figures set made specially for this aircraft. :)
