Eduard 1/48 F4F-4 Wildcat Early Profipack (82202)

This article is dedicated to Eduard 1/48 F4F-4 Wildcat Early Profipack (82202). Kit comes as new version of the famous aircraft in popular scale. Moreover, it should also contain all necessary bonuses inside. Main difference of this type was the folding wings, which will come later for this kit. Packaging is typical here, so let's open it and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with its rival in the same scale.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer.

We are going to start with large frame which carries mix of various parts. Today's model should have nice engine and cockpit out of the box, so I would recommend to play a bit with weathering. Note that cowling should be glued out of several panels.

Tail surfaces can be found on the next sprue. There are guiding pins inside which should help you with alignment.

I said it in the review of the previous version, but this model has well detailed internal components. Don't forget that you can get even more features with help of special Brassin sets from Eduard.

Yes, wing features premolded flaps, and it is necessary to get a separate set in order to have them dropped. Each side of the wing should be glued out of two halves.

Last grey frame is dedicated to fuselage halves. Both are molded with tail fin, but cowling, as you remember, is separate here. Inside you will find guiding elements.

Clear frame comes in the separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, and you can see masks on the photo below.

Today's kit is a Profipack, so we would also get a prepainted PE fret. Those parts will come handy for fine features on your Wildcat.

Decals are printed in Eduard, so quality looks great. Here we have all necessary symbols for five markings.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New Wildcat should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it looks like a great offer in this scale. Moreover, Profipack features all necessary things in one box. I should also mention that there is a huge choice of original Brassin accessories which would make your build even more detailed. Keep in mind that Eduard is also working on folding wings Brassin set which would make this model even more interesting. All this will definitely require some experience from you, but the final result should be worth it.
