Special Hobby 1/32 AH-1G Cobra Marines/US Navy (SH32086)

Today we are going to talk about Special Hobby 1/32 AH-1G Cobra Marines/US Navy (SH32086). New kit continues line of releases created in cooperation with ICM. Czech manufacturer takes a nice plastic kit and adds more things so that you can build even more impressive copy. In this scale such thing should be a great project to assembly, so I decided to take a closer look at what is offered in the box. Packaging is typical, so let's open it and check contents.
By the way, here you can read review with ICM release of this plastic.

We are going to start with armament sprue which is given in two pieces. Note that some parts will stay here as Special Hobby provides us with resin replacement.

Just like in the original release, we get here a choice of two tail fins. Inside you will find guiding pins for easier alignment.

Lower fuselage panel can be found on the next sprue. This is a good feature which should help you avoid unnecessary gaps on the model.

Both fuselage halves come on the last frame. Molding quality looks great and external features are decent for this scale.

Now we can move on to bonuses which are provided by Special Hobby. Resin parts come neatly packed into separate small box. On the photo above you can see pilot seats, rocket launchers, cockpit panels and landing gear wheels.

There are more parts! Note that even pilots' helmets are here, what should add to the realistic appearance of your model.

Another great thing - 3D-printed parts for some fine things in the model. Their size is not that big as you can notice, so it is better to be careful.

Kit also features PE parts. Those are clearly made by Eduard, so you don't have to worry about their quality.

Clear frame is packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, and you can see masks on the photo below.

Decals sheet is surprisingly small for this scale, but somehow fits all necessary symbols. It is printed in Cartograf.

4 markings can be seen on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. You can check all pages in the video-review.

New kit should be already available, but don't forget that it comes as Limited Edition. In my opinion such package will be sold out quickly, so it is better to hurry if you want to get one in your collection. Overall recipe is quite simple and cool - take a good model and make it even better with help of additional items. Once you combine everything, Cobra should look impressive, but this definitely not a kit for beginners. I would recommend it only to modelers who are confident in their skills. :)
Get this and other kits on official Special Hobby website.
