This article is dedicated to Arma Hobby 1/72 Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate (70051). As you can guess, new kit brings us a chance to build Japanese fighter aircraft in small scale. Moreover, model is new-tooled, so we can expect a lot of great features inside. As for the real aircraft, Hayate was the third most produced Japanese WW2 aircraft. In my opinion it has own beauty, so small copy should look amazing. Packaging is typical, all things come in one plastic bag. Let's open them and take a closer look together.

Usually I say that you will get exactly the same things as I have in the video and photos, but here we have slightly different thing. Supplied kit was in pre-production version, so some things might change before it comes on shelves.

I suggest we start with the "main" frame where you will find almost all necessary parts. Note that parts design is typical - two fuselage halves, two win halves and a lot of separate components.

Предлагаю начать с "основной" рамки, где уместились практически все детали. Обратите внимание, что дизайн типичный - две половины фюзеляжа и много других деталей.

First of all, engine looks quite impressive and will employ some PE parts as well. Landing gear wheels feature weight imitation, what is rather surprising to see in this scale. :)

Для начала рассмотрим двигатель, который смотрится впечатляюще и будет совмещён с травлением. Колёса имеют имитацию нагрузки, что необычно для данного масштаба. :)

Wing mechanization is premolded, so you won't be able to retract flaps. External features look great and include rivets with recessed panel lines.

Механизация влитая, так что выпустит закрылки не получится. Внешняя проработка смотрится отлично и включает клёпку и внутреннюю расшивку.

Both fuselage halves are molded with tail fin and rudder, but without cowling parts. External details are pretty much the same as on the wing. For the cowling you can choose the position of cooling flaps.

Обе половины фюзеляжа отлиты с килём и рулём направления, но без деталей капота. Внешняя проработка такая же как и на крыле. Для капота также можно выбрать несколько вариантов створок - в открытом или закрытом положении.

Inside you will find minor cockpit features, where you will have to add more parts. It looks fine for 1/72 scale.

Внутри есть проработка кабина, которая будет улучшена отдельными деталями. Всё это смотрится неплохо для 72-го масштаба.

As you remember, we have only two wing halves. Top panels are connected with main wheel wells and here you can check this section.

Как вы помните, в наборе только две половины крыла. Верхние половины соединены нишей шасси и здесь вы можете рассмотреть всё поближе.

Nevertheless, there is one more frame with tailwings and bombs. Molding quality looks fine here, so it should be easy to assemble bombs for your Ki-84.

Тем не менее, в комплекте есть ещё одна рамка со стабилизаторами и бомбами. Качество литья отличное, так что бомбы будет несложно собрать вместе.

Clear frame features all necessary parts for the canopy and target side. I like how those look and Arma Hobby added masks, which you can see on the photo below.

Прозрачная рамка содержит всё нужное для фонаря и прицела. Мне нравится, что в комплекте есть маски, вы найдёте их на одном из фото ниже.

Here you can take a closer look at the windscreen of the canopy.

Another nice bonus - unpainted PE fret with some internal and external parts.

There are two decals sheets in the kit, both are printed in Techmod. Printing quality looks great.

Yes, there are cockpit decals included. I would rather recommend to wait for aftermarket PE in case you would like to get impressive look.

There are six marking options in this kit, and the choice looks good in my opinion. Assembly manual is typical for this brand, you can check all pages in the video-review.

Small fighter aircraft should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great offer in 1/72 scale and even out-of-the-box build would look impressive. Moreover, Arma Hobby managed to copy some things which are not that often seen in bigger releases. The only thing you should keep in mind - small size might be tricky for older modelers, but that is something expected, right? All in all, I am quite impressed with this new kit and I hope that Arma Hobby will keep surprising us with new cool releases this year. :)

Маленький истребитель уже должен быть в продаже. Я считаю, что это отличное предложение в 72-ом масштабе и даже изкоробочная сборка будет смотреться впечатляюще. Более того, Арма Хобби смогли скопировать такие вещи, которые не часто встретишь в моделях покрупнее. Единственное, о чём стоит помнить - небольшие размеры, что может быть непросто для некоторых моделистов. В целом новинка впечатляет и я надеюсь, что мы увидим в этом году ещё больше новинок от этого бренда.
