Eduard 1/48 Sopwith F.1 Camel Profipack (82172)

This time we are going to take a look at Eduard 1/48 Sopwith F.1 Camel Profipack (82172). As you can guess, new release brings yet another version of the famous British biplane. Such model project might be an interesting build for modelers who don't have space for bigger scales. Packaging is typical for this brand, so let's open the box and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with the previous version.

First frame proves the fact that we get a lot of spare parts here. Just take a look at all these engines and propellers. I have to note that powerplant will be quite detailed for its size.

Next we see some parts for the cowling as well as tail fairing. Be careful with landing gear struts choice as it will depend on the marking option you copy.

The last grey plastic sprue is dedicated to wing and fuselage parts. Both are nicely detailed for this scale and should look good in the finished state.

Clear frame comes in the separate plastic bag. Molding quality is great and you can see masks on the photo below.

PE fret is also included into standard package. Be ready to use tweezers as some parts are really small.

Kit features only one decals sheets with all necessary symbols on it. Printing quality looks great and decals should be easy to work with. All markings are shown on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New biplane should be already available for purchase. In my opinion this is a great release in 1/48 scale and today's model can be called as the best Camel in that size. Moreover, kit comes as Profipack, so you can expect various useful bonuses inside. I wouldn't say that this kit is suitable for beginners because biplane design and rigging would be tricky for modelers without experience. Professionals might also try to add more features with help of original accessories.
Get this and other kits on official Eduard website.

Pros

  • Nice molding quality
  • Clever parts division
  • Great decals
  • PE and masks included

Cons

  • Rigging will be tricky
