Eduard 1/48 Bf 108 Weekend (8479)

This time we are going to talk about Eduard 1/48 Bf 108 Weekend (8479). This is a more accessible version of the German aircraft kit in popular scale. Well, packaging hints that we get older packaging which features only two marking options inside. Review itself is something from our archives, what wasn't published before, hence the quality of the video. :) Nevertheless, let's open this box and take a look together.
By the way, here you can read review with another German aircraft in Weekend Edition.

We are going to start with first frame which carries mix of internal and external parts. Molding quality looks ok, even though plastic is not that new.

Both fuselage halves are molded together with tail fin, but without rudder and front cowling panel. Such design should help you get a bit more streamlined result.

Wing parts division is standard for aircraft kit - two top panels and one bottom part. Flaps and ailerons are molded in, so there is not that much of what you can do here.

Canopy comes as single-piece part. This is a Weekend kit, so there are no masks included.

Decals sheet looks nice and carries all necessary symbols. Note that there are also cockpit decals included. Both markings can be seen on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. You can check all pages in the video-review.

Bf 108 comes as nice offering for these modelers who don't want to assemble military aircraft. Here you get a chance to build a civil one with two interesting markings. Such package should be interesting for modelers who don't need any extras and would be happy to have a plastic only. Moreover, there is a space for scratch-building, so you can add some features with your own tools and hands. Kit might not be new, but it still looks great in this boxing and might turn into a nice model.

Pros

  • Plastic still looks fine
  • Clever parts division
  • Good decals

Cons

  • No masks included
