Ferdie - Build Review with Zvezda 1/100 Ferdinand kit

Today we are happy to introduce new type of our build-articles which will be accompanied with video. As you can see on the main photo, it was decided to build new 1/100 Ferdinand from Zvezda, full review of which you can read here.

I think there is no need to show how it was assembled, because there are just 11 parts. Of course, tracks were left aside and painted separately before installation onto the tank.

Я считаю, что не нужно рассказывать, как он был собран, так как в наборе всего 11 деталей. Разумеется, траки были оставлены в сторонке и окрашены отдельно перед установкой на модель.

As for the camo, it was applied with brush. I've used paints set from Ammo MiG, which was easy to use and apply onto the model.

Что касается камуфляжа, то он был нанесён кистью. Я использовал краски от Ammo MiG, который довольно просто наносить на модель.

By the way, rust on the gun mask was replicated with rust paints set from Vallejo. I think it looks fine for such small scale and adds a bit more visual interest to the model.

Кстати, ржавчина на маске орудия была сымитирована при помощи набора от Vallejo. По-моему, получилось неплохо для такого небольшого масштаба и добавило интереса внешнему виду.

For various hatches and meshes I've used black SiraHobby wash, it's easy to apply on glossy surface, and it looks quite realistic after drying out.

Для разных люков и решёток я использовал чёрную смывку SiraHobby, её легко наносить на глянцевую поверхность, и она смотрится довольно реалистично после высыхания.

As for the dirt, I decided first to use dark brown from Tamiya which was sprayed with airbrush on low pressure. Of course, it's important to cover only lower part of the vehicle.

Грязь было решено сымитировать темно-коричневым цветом от Тамии, который был задут аэрографом на низком давлении. Разумеется, важно покрыть только нижнюю часть модели.

Rear segment was dirtied with "splashing" technique.

Задняя часть была загрязнена брызгами с кисти.

As a result, we have a nice small copy of the famous Ferdinand tank destroyer. Small scale placed its own limitations on detailing and features of the model, but we can understand it. Moreover, don't forget to check the video, I hope you will like it :)

В итоге получилась маленькая копия знаменитого Фердинанда. Небольшой масштаб повлиял на проработку модели, но это вполне ожидаемо. Не забудьте посмотреть видео, надеюсь, оно вам понравится. :)
