ICM 1/72 Luftwaffe Night Fighters (72209)

This review will tell you more about ICM 1/72 Luftwaffe Night Fighters (72209). Kit comes as combo-release in popular scale. One box will bring you three different German aircraft, and you can build them together or as separate projects. Overall packaging is typical for the brand, so all parts are separated into several plastic bags. There are 155 parts for Do 17Z-10, 135 parts for Fw 189A-1 and 44 parts for Bf 109E-4. Let's open everything and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with another Do 17 version in the same scale.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer.

We are going to start with Do 17. First frame is one of the biggest here and carries fuselage halves as well as some of the tail surfaces. Nose section is molded as one-piece element here.

Clear frame is packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, but there are no masks included in the kit.

ICM included both engines, and they look great for the standard bonus. Note also one-piece propellers which should make assembly a bit faster.

Wing should be glued out of three parts, ailerons are separate here. External features include recessed panel lines and access hatches.

Next one is Bf 109E. Here you can see canopy parts, and yes, you can open cockpit on your tiny aircraft build.

All other parts nicely fit onto one frame. Here you will find fuselage halves molded together with tail fin as well as wing parts and even one-piece cowling section.

Next clear frame belongs to Fw 189. Molding quality looks great, but for this one I would recommend to buy masks, so that you can save yourself from cutting all those tiny masks.

Wing should be glued out of several sections for each side. Molding quality looks great on those, and fitment should be fine too.

Each tail boom should be glued out of two halves. There are guiding elements which will help you with alignment.

Night version also includes antennas which should be placed on the nose section. Each set is supplied with nice decals, and there are several markings offered out of the box.

Assembly manuals are standard for ICM. You can check all pages in the video-review.

New combo-release should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great choice for modelers who would like to have several builds without searching for each kit. Moreover, those aircraft sets are quite fine for their size, and should be fun to build too. There is also a wide choice of aftermarket available, but you might benefit from PE and masks for each. I like such combos because they give you a chance to get all necessary kits at once, and you can even share with your friends, what is also good.
