Yes, this time we are talking not about the model, but about a handy tool to build one - RP Toolz Kraken Stand (RP-KRT1). This is a new release from the well-known brand, and in my opinion it has a great potential to be a useful helper in builds. The whole idea is simple - full-metal stand with the special endpoints to hold the model in place. Such design will come in handy not only for assembly, but also for some fine weathering and other operations. Packaging is typical here, all parts are separated into several bags. Let's open them all and take a closer look together.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer. Be sure to check it, as it shows a bit more features in motion.
We are going to start with two types of the holder ends. On the photo above you can see platforms with anti-slip layer. Those might be handy in case you have wheeled vehicle or have to have tracks in place.
Another option is the one which will be attached via axles. In theory it can even work with some wheeled vehicles, but it is more handy for the tracked ones. You just place corner axles into each of four ends and then model will be thoroughly held in place.
I didn't have a tank build ready yet, so I decided to show with a bit more difficult subject - car model with movable wheels. As you can see, plain platforms were used, and they are kind of squeezing this vehicle from both sides.
The grip is so good that car doesn't slide even in such weird angles. Keep in mind that this model is also relatively heavy, so with plastic sets it will be even easier to have everything in one place.
Red color here is not the paint, but anodising finish which should be a bit more durable. Overall machining quality looks impressive and should be comfortable to hold and work with. Note that platform and handle are not a single part, and you can detach the model if necessary.
New Kraken should be already available for purchase. I like the whole idea of this tool - it is quite easy to work with, and yet it will be handy for building kits. Doesn't matter which scale you prefer, holder will be suitable even for some 1/72 projects. Separate word should be said about the quality of this product, as you can see how neatly machining was done, and whole design just works. In my opinion it is a must have for tank builders because handling models can be tricky sometimes. Moreover, it looks like we will see more versions coming soon, so I really hope this series will continue to develop.
