Today I am going to tell you more about Takom 1/35 M29 Weasel Arctic/Antarctic Expedition Vehicle (2193). New release comes as another version of the small vehicle. I missed the previous editions, but think that this one might be interesting to check closer. Overall packaging is typical for this brand, so all frames come in the separate bags. Let's open them all and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with Weasel in smaller scale.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer.
I would like to start with one-piece lower hull section. Such design should save you some time as you get the right alignment out of the box.
Sprue "A" comes in two pieces as we will find tracks and drivetrain parts here. Overall design looks good and should be easy to install.
Of course, plastic tracks are nice to have, and such thing would look more convincing on the finished build.
Today's version is different with the superstructure on the top, which was used for protection from harsh conditions. Note separate doors, which might be useful for some ideas.
Real vehicle has quite simple interior, so don't expect something unusual here. Nevertheless, all parts look nice out of the box.
Takom molded tools with clamps in place. Such design might be easier to install, but some modelers would prefer to have PE clamps.
All separate panels have guiding elements, so you will have some help with alignment. Note also thin attachment points which should make separation easier as well.
Some of the hatches are molded in unfortunately, but I guess this is also because there is no engine in today's kit.
Takom provides nice clear frame, but there are no masks included. Be ready to cover those parts with your own stickers.
Unpainted PE fret is a welcome bonus which should be useful for some fine features on the model. Decals look nice and should be easy to apply. You can see one of the markings on the photo below. Metal wire will be used for the towing cable.
Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.
New kit should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great choice for those who would like to build something different in popular scale. Just add some figurines and you would have nice diorama project. Moreover, quality here looks nice out of the box, so you might be satisfied even with the standard build.
