ICM 1/35 Universal Military Pod and M8A1 US Landing Mat (53201)

In this review article I am going to tell you more about ICM 1/35 Universal Military Pod and M8A1 US Landing Mat (53201). Large container might be familiar to some of you as it was part of the previous helicopter release, but now comes as separate object. As the boxart suggests, we will get full interior as well as the landing mat in the same scale. There are 127 parts for assembly of military pod and 48 parts for a landing mat. All of them are packed into several plastic bags, so let's open them and take a closer look together.

I suggest we start with mat panels which come on the same type of the frame. Overall idea is quite simple - you combine those into two possible variation of the mat size.

Next we go with parts for the military pod. On the first frame you will find large floor panel as well as suspension.

Full interior is here, and it might be quite a tedious thing to assemble and paint. Straightaway the first possible upgrade that comes to my mind is seatbelts for even more convincing look.

External panels are quite big and feature nice details out of the box. It might be worth playing with weathering here for even more convincing look.

Side panels have cutouts for separate doors and windows. Both feature should help you show what is hidden inside.

Note that they have nice interior features too. Those are good material for some panel line weathering.

Clear frame comes in the separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, but there are no masks for those.

Decals sheet is not that big and carries all necessary symbols for several markings. You can see them all on the photo below.

Assembly manuals are typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New Military Pod should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it might be a good break from all those military aircraft or vehicles. Add some figurines and you will get even more sophisticated look. Yes, interior assembly might be a bit tedious, but I think final result should be worth it. Moreover, this is a great object to play with various weathering techniques both inside and outside.
