ICM 1/72 Fw 189C/V-6 (72290)

This article will tell you more about ICM 1/72 Fw 189C/V-6 (72290). New kit brings us yet another version of the unusual twin-engine aircraft in small scale. This one was different because of its heavily armored fuselage which looks quite impressive even on the boxart. Well, now we have a chance to copy it in the scale. Previous versions were quite nice, so this one should be good too. Packaging is typical for ICM, so all parts come in one plastic bag. There are 116 parts which should assemble into aircraft with 255mm wingspan. Let's open all sprues and check them together.
By the way, here you can read review with the previous version in the same scale.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer.

In this video I will show you comparison with another kit copying the same aircraft.

I suggest we start with the new sprue first. Here you will find fuselage halves as well as wing root sections. Both should be glued out of two parts.

Inside you will find various guiding elements which should help you with alignment.

Both tail booms should be glued out of two halves as well. Here you can also see bombs and landing gear parts.

Each side of the wing is also two-piece assembly. As for the external features, you can expect recessed panel lines as well as rivets.

Clear parts are packed into a separate plastic bag. First one is the new sprue with the armored type of the canopy. Don't worry, ICM also included masking template for those.

Second frame will be needed only for few elements, but the quality is on the same level.

Decals look great out of the box, you will get all necessary symbols for one marking option. Assembly manual is typical for this brand, and you can check all pages in the video-review.

New aircraft kit should be already available for purchase. In my opinion the V-6 type offers a great chance to build this menacing aircraft in small scale. Nevertheless, even in this size it will take some space thanks to impressive wingspan. As for the details and package, you can expect all necessary things in one box. Some modelers might try to do some scratchbuilding here and there, but I think even standard build should look good. Moreover, it is a good chance to play with "what if" markings. :)
