Kinetic 1/48 F-16C Block 25/42 USAF (K48102)

This time we are going to talk about Kinetic 1/48 F-16C Block 25/42 USAF (K48102). New kit might be interesting for modelers who would like to build the famous aircraft in popular scale. The subject itself doesn't need an extra introduction, but there is a huge variety of types, so be sure to check which one you would like to copy. Note that parts count here is around 220 parts, what is not that big for the model in 1/48 scale. Packaging is typical, so let's open everything and take a closer look together.

First nice surprise - external armament in the box. While some companies choose to save on the costs, Kinetic includes all of these items as standard feature.

More can be found on the next sprues. Landing gear wheels look ok, but I would recommend to find resin replacement for those.

Next we see mix of various parts for internal and external features. Overall molding quality looks great and I didn't find any extra issues.

Here you can check one of the questionable features - two-piece nose cone. I wonder why it was decided to use such design as this is the most noticeable element on the model.

Fuselage parts design is typical for F-16 kit in this scale. External features include recessed panel lines and rivets.

Yes, air intake should be also glued out of two halves! Only the small frontal section comes as single-piece element. Engine nozzle looks good for standard build.

Top fuselage section comes on the separate frame. Note that wing mechanization is separate here.

Cockpit base features premolded details. I would recommend to get PE set if you would like to have even more features.

Clear parts are packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, but there are no masks included in the standard package.

As it was written on the box, decals are printed in Cartograf. Printing quality looks great, and there are even decals for the cockpit. You can see three markings on the photo below.

I am not sure why Kinetic decided to include black-and-white assembly manual, but you will have to deal with such thing. All pages can be checked in our traditional video-review.

This F-16 should be available for some time. In my opinion it is a great choice for all aviation fans, who would like to get a bit more modern kit. Moreover, there are already many aftermarket sets for this release. Yes, there are several things which are quite strange to see in the modern kit, but who knows, maybe aftermarket will solve that as well. Overall quality looks great, so definitely check out this model if you are searching for F-16 to build.
