ICM 1/35 V3000S/SSM Maultier Einheitsfahrerhaus (35410)

This time we are going to check ICM 1/35 V3000S/SSM Maultier Einheitsfahrerhaus (35410). New truck comes as fresh release from the well-known manufacturer. It is molded in popular scale and might be an interesting choice for some diorama project. Some of you might remember that we reviewed the previous version as well, I will place the link below. Well, new version features "boxy" type of the front cab. Packaging is typical for this brand, so all parts come in one plastic bag. There are 313 parts which should assemble into a vehicle with 182mm length. Let's open everything and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with the older version of this truck.

In this video you can check all parts even closer :)

We are going to start with large frame which carries mix of parts for rear bed and wheels. It is good to see plastic wheels as those will be easier to paint and weather.

Kit features nice suspension and drivetrain parts. Engine is also included, so some modelers might use this opportunity in dioramas.

All those parts will be needed for rear tracked section. Don't underestimate this subassembly as it will definitely require some time to assemble.

Separate track links look good, but there is no assembly jig, and you will have to spend some time with those.

Here we will need large panels for the front cab. Overall design is typical for such elements, and there are guiding tabs inside for easier alignment.

Those curved panels won't be needed in today's version. They will go into spare parts box and might be useful for your next scratchbuild project.

Clear frame is packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, but there are no masks included.

Decals look good out of the box. There are three marking options in the kit, and you can see them on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for ICM. I show all pages in the video-review.

German half-track should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great choice for some diorama project in popular scale. Moreover, you will get a lot of features out of the box, so it is just a matter of adding some figurines. This is definitely not a kit for beginners, but with some experience you should be able to get a nice result. Don't forget about separate doors and panels, which might be useful too. I think it is a must-have for all fans of German WW2 vehicles. :)

Pros

  • Nice molding quality
  • Clever parts division
  • Good decals

Cons

  • No masks for clear parts
