ICM 1/35 AR-2 Fire Truck (35003)

Today we are going to talk about ICM 1/35 AR-2 Fire Truck (35003). This vehicle comes in popular scale and should be interesting for modelers who would like to work on civil truck. "Base" kit might be familiar to some of you and we checked it in different versions. As you can notice on the boxart, new version features closed rear section without interior. There are 330 parts which should assemble into truck model with 228mm length. Let's open the box and take a closer look together.

First we are going to take a look at the new parts for the rear section. Here you will find large panels with guiding elements inside.

There are also thin and small parts for the drivetrain, so you will have to be careful with those. Note that engine will get a lot of features.

Engine block can be found on the next sprue. Here you can also see wheel axles as well as large chassis bars.

Next frame brings even more panels for the rear section. Overall quality looks fine and should be easy to work with.

Front cab is also divided into separate panels. It is good to see separate doors as well, those might come handy for some diorama ideas. ICM also gives a choice between two assembly options for the cab.

Wheel rims come on two similar frames. Such design should make it easier to paint the rim only.

Vinyl tires look fine for out of the box build. Something more detailed will require upgrade with resin wheels.

Clear frames are packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks good, but there are no masks included here.

Decals sheet looks fine and features all necessary symbols for three marking options. You can see them on the photo below.

New truck should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a decent kit in popular scale. Just add some figurines and it will turn into a good diorama. Moreover, there are several assembly options which should come handy for various build ideas. I wonder about several things. First of all whether we would see interior parts for some fine features in the rear box. Second - why ICM stopped including masking templates, which were really handy in the assembly. Well, even with all this fire truck looks good out of the box, and I recommend to check it. :)
