Trumpeter 1/35 E-50 Flakpanzer (01537)

Today we are going to talk about Trumpeter 1/35 E-50 Flakpanzer (01537). This is one of our older reviews, which is still interesting as there are not that many alternatives to the kit. Model itself is a typical release from Chinese manufacturer, so it should look familiar to experienced modelers. Moreover, it copies quite unusual what-if version, which might be cool to detail a bit. Packaging is typical here, so let's open it and take a closer look together.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer.

First we are going to start with the frame which carries roadwheels, suspension parts and exhausts. As you can see, molding quality looks fine and there are no problems even with the tiniest things.

Side skirts are molded as one-piece parts. Such design should be easier to install, as you won't have to deal with separate sections.

Yes, main barrels are separated into two halves. Here I would recommend to get some metal replacement for a bit more convincing appearance.

Turret comes as single-piece part with all hatches molded separately. Such design is definitely better than wasting your time with separate panels.

Trumpeter provides the same approach for hull sections. You will get both as single-piece parts ready to be connected together.

Note that the top one features separate hatches. There is no interior, but open hatch might come handy for figure placement or some diorama ideas.

Yes, this kit features vinyl tracks. They look ok for out-of-the-box build, but I would rather replace them with some aftermarket for a bit more convincing look.

Few small bonuses include PE fret and metal towing cable. Both are appreciated in this scale. Clear frame looks good, but there are no masks inside. As for assembly manual, you can check all pages in the video-review.

Today's kit is available for some time and you can get it in any good model shops. In my opinion it is an interesting option for modelers who would like to build something different. Moreover, you will not be limited by historical boundaries here, so it will be possible to do some scratchbuilding as well as experiment with markings. Moreover, it might be a good choice for diorama project as the subject looks quite suitable for superimposed composition. :)
