Eduard 1/48 MiG-21bis Around the World (11135)

This review is dedicated to Eduard 1/48 MiG-21bis Around the World (11135). As you can guess, we have a Limited Edition kit from the Czech brand. Such release might be interesting for modelers who would like to build famous fighter in some unusual marking. Moreover, there are some bonuses inside, so the final result should have some additional features. Packaging is typical, so let's open it and take a closer look at what's included in this box.
By the way, here you can read review with another MiG Limited Edition.

First frame is dedicated to fuselage halves. Inside you will find guiding elements for easier alignment.

Main wheel wells should be assembled as the separate module. In the upper left corner you can also see cockpit floor which is unified with front wheel well.

Kit is full of small parts and some of them are really tiny, so be ready to use tweezers. Moreover, in some cases you will have to use PE instead of plastic.

Wing parts division is typical, we get separate mechanization parts and that's a really good feature for 1/48 scale kit. External features are typical and should look good on the finished model.

External equipment comes on the separate frame. It is nice to see such thing included out of the box.

As you can guess, some parts will go into your spares box, and might be handy for the next projects.

Last grey frame features tail fin halves. Note that rudder comes as separate part.

Clear frame is packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great and you can open cockpit on your model.

Yes, this kit also includes resin parts which should add some fine features to the big model.

Three PE frets also come as great bonus for today's model. These are typical Eduard products, so you don't have to worry about quality issues.

One huge decals sheet carries all necessary symbols. Printing quality looks great and you can see all markings on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand, I show all pages in the video-review.

You might have noticed that this review is a bit different in quality. Well, it is different because it is one of the old articles that were finally found on the computer. Nevertheless, kit looks great even today, and I think experienced modelers might turn it into impressive copy of the famous aircraft. One box will bring you all the necessary things, so it is up to you which marking you will pick. I can't recommend this model to beginners due to some areas which might require some experience from you. Moreover, don't forget about original resin accessories that you can buy separately. :)

Pros

  • Nice molding quality
  • Clever parts division
  • PE, masks and resin included
  • Good decals

Cons

  • Might be tricky for beginners
