Miniart 1/35 Grant Mk.I (35276)

This review is dedicated to Miniart 1/35 Grant Mk.I (35276). Kit comes as yet another version of unusual tank in popular scale. Note that this time we get a version without interior, what might be more attractive for some modelers. Other than that, you can expect a nice model with all the features out of the box. Packaging is typical for this brand - all frames come sealed in one plastic bag. Let's open it and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with Jerry Cans set.

We are going to start with hull parts. Lower section should be glued out of separate panels. There are guiding elements which will help you in this.

On the next photo you can see other large panels. Note that all hatches are separate, but you have to remember that this is not an interior set.

As any serious release from Miniart, this one is full of small frames, so be sure not to lose any of those. Molding quality looks fine even on the smallest parts.

Nice surprise comes in form of bags and tarpauline which can be placed on the tank. This will definitely improve the overall appearance of the model.

I am glad to see plastic tracks in the kit. Whole assembly process might be a bit cumbersome as there is no assembly jig included.

Again, small parts are here, so be ready to work with special tools in order to properly handle all those elements.

Last grey plastic sprue is one of the biggest in the set. All those panels are sections of the hull which should be combined together.

Clear frame is packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks fine, but there are no masks included into this kit.

Decals sheet comes from Decograph, so you don't have to worry about possible quality issues. PE fret will come handy for fine features on your model.

All 8 markings can be seen on the photo above. Assembly manual is typical for this brand and I show all pages in the video-review.

Today's tank should be already available for purchase. In one box you will get a nice plastic with all necessary add-ons. Moreover, it might be good for some modelers that there are no interior parts included. Such package allows them to focus on external features where Miniart didn't skip on anything. The only thing I would like to mention is that such set is more aimed towards experienced modelers who assembled at least several models before. :)

Pros

  • Nice molding quality
  • Clever parts division
  • Good decals
  • PE included

Cons

  • No templates for road wheels
  • Tracks might be tedious to assemble
