Eduard 1/72 MiG-15bis Weekend Edition (7461)

This article is dedicated to Eduard 1/72 MiG-15bis Weekend Edition (7461). Name says it all - kit comes as the simplified version of the famous Soviet jet aircraft in the small scale. Plastic is not completely fresh, but it still looks great and should be a worthy candidate for assembly. Packaging is typical for this manufacturer, so let's open it and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with bigger scale kit.

First frame is dedicated to mix of various parts. Here you will find cockpit elements as well as landing gear parts.

Wing should be glued out of two halves for each side. Flaps are molded in and you will have to buy the separate PE set for copying the retracted version.

The last grey plastic sprue is dedicated to fuselage halves. Both are molded together with tail fin, but without rudder and nose section.

Clear frame comes in the separate plastic bag in order to avoid possible scratches. Molding quality looks great, but there are no masks included as we are checking Weekend Edition today.

Both decals sheets are printed in Eduard, so you don't have to worry about the printing quality. Note that there are also some cockpit decals included. All four markings can be seen on the photo below.

Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.

New version of the small MiG should be already available for purchase. In one box you will get a decent kit which should turn into a nice model. Nevertheless, I would recommend to start such build only if you have some experience behind your back. Otherwise it might be a bit tricky to work with such small model. Also don't forget about wide choice of original accessories which should improve some features.
Get this and other kits on official Eduard website.

Pros

  • Nice molding quality
  • Clever parts division
  • Great decals
  • Huge choice of original accessories

Cons

  • No masks included
