This article will tell you more about Miniart 1/48 P-47D-22RE French Basic Kit (48047). New set comes as yet another version of the famous aircraft in popular scale. I reviewed the previous releases, so it will be interesting to see what is offered here. Note that today's edition is a so-called "Basic" one, so there are fewer markings and no PE parts in the box. Overall packaging is still the same, and all frames are packed into the same plastic bag. Let's open everything and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with another version of this aircraft.

Watch this video-review where I show all parts even closer.
First frames might be familiar if you saw the previous kits. Here you will find wing mechanisation as weill as some of the fuselage panels.
Miniart also provides external equipment which might be handy for different build ideas. As you can guess, some of those will stay put for your next projects.
Even though it is a Basic Kit, you can still expect a nicely detailed engine in the standard package. Overall quality looks good and it might be worth showing the powerplant.
Each side of the wing should be glued out of two halves. Note also cowling panels here, those will have to be joined one-by-one around the engine.
Both fuselage halves are molded together with tail fin. External features include recessed panel lines and rivets.
Cockpit is also nicely detailed and should be sufficient for most modellers. There are a lot of premolded features, so be sure to work with brush.
Clear frame is packed into separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, but there are no masks or templates included in the kit.
Decals are printed in Cartograf, so you don't have to worry about possible quality issues. Note the segmentation here, which should assist with the ease of application. Both markings are shown on the photo below.
Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.
New set should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is as good as the previous releases from Miniart. Don't be confused by "Basic Kit" naming, because you will get a lot of useful things in the standard package. The only item which is must-have here is the masks sheet because it will help with the overall quality of paintwork. As for the figurines, you can get them as separate kit from the same brand.
