Miniart 1/35 M3 Lee Mid Prod (35209)

This time we have a chance to talk about Miniart 1/35 M3 Lee Mid Prod (35209). Yes, this is a new version of US tank in popular scale. Moreover, it comes as Interior Kit, so you can expect more parts and features included out of the box. Kit might be familiar to some of you because it was released in other versions before, but today we are going to talk about Mid Type. Packaging is typical - all frames come sealed in a plastic bag. Let's open them and take a closer look together.

On the first frame you will find hull parts. These panels will have to be carefully combined together. Note that there is an internal detailing as well.

Road wheels come as single-piece parts with separate rim for the "face" part, what should make it easier to get nice paint finish. Drive sprockets look fine and won't be difficult to separate.

Next you see various small parts for the interior. Be sure not to lose any of those because there are no spares included. :D

Overall molding quality looks fine and should be easy to work with. Of course, all hatches can be opened on your tank.

As you might have noticed, whole hull should be assembled out of separate panels, so be sure to keep track of the alignment. Some panels are quite small, but still important.

It is cool that turret top part comes as single-piece part. Note also nice casting surface here.

More hull panels can be seen on the photo above. Rivets look good, and it might be a good idea to bring them out with help of weathering.

Again, all hatches are separate and might come handy for exposing interior in this model. Well, figures placement can be also reliant on these elements.

I hope you remember that this tank features radial engine. Molding quality looks good, and this part of the tank can be named as the separate kit. It would be wise to think through on how to expose it on the model.

Two more frames bring huge amount of small parts for turret and fighting compartment. Some of these might even require tweezers to be installed into the right spot.

Today's kit features plastic tracks. Well, it would be strange to get the vinyl parts in here, right?

Nevertheless, you should be ready to work with these parts. There is no assembly jig, so everything will require a careful handling.

Whole process might be tedious, but final result should be worth it.

Clear frame is packed in separate plastic bag. Molding quality looks great, but there are no masks included. Decals sheet comes from Decograf, so you shouldn't worry about quality issues.

Kit also features unpainted PE fret. It will be useful both inside and outside. On the photo below you can see all markings which are included in the kit.

Today's kit should be already available for purchase. Kit offers great value for those modelers who would like to assemble diorama project in popular scale. Full interior should look amazing in the finished state. Well, its assembly would require more time and some strategical planning, so be ready for that. Of course, this is not a kit for beginners, so be sure to have the necessary skills before starting such kit.
