ICM 1/72 SPz Marder 1A3 (72822)

This review will tell you more about ICM 1/72 SPz Marder 1A3 (72822). New release comes in small scale and copies modern IFV. As you can guess, there is non-ICM plastic inside, it actually comes from Revell. Nevertheless, it is still interesting to see how the things are copied in this version and what is new. Packaging is typical, so all parts come sealed in one plastic bag. In total there are 161 parts for this model. Assembled vehicle will measure 95mm length. Let's open everything and take a closer look together.

First frame is dedicated to the lower hull section. It should be glued out of separate panels, but suspension arms are premolded here. Plastic tracks are nice to see in this scale.

Turret features separate hatch, but manual shows it assembled shut. Each wheel should be glued out of two parts.

Side skirts come on the separate frame. Overall quality looks fine on all parts.

Top hull section can be found on the last grey plastic sprue. Note that Revell made rear hatch as separate part too. This feature can be useful for some diorama ideas.

Decals sheet is not that big, but you will find all necessary symbols for four marking options. All of them can be seen on the photo below.

New small Marder should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great choice for modelers who would like to copy modern vehicle in small scale. Revell plastic still looks great even though original release happened more than 10 years ago. Out of the box you get all necessary features, and the only thing which could be added - clear parts. In my opinion they are noticeable in this scale, so you can find a way how to install them on the model.
