Italeri 1/9 Vespa PX125 (4645)

This time I will tell you more about Italeri 1/9 Vespa PX125 (4645). Yes, we are getting the famous scooter molded in large scale. This is a new-tool set from Italian manufacturer, so for me it is interesting to see what is actually included inside. Subject itself is also cool because it is not another super mega sportsbike, but humble scooter which can be seen everywhere.

First frame comes in silver color as it carries suspension and engine parts. Those are molded nicely, and you just need to paint them in proper way.

Note that seat is molded out of black plastic and not a rubber part, what is really good. You will also find here more of the suspension bits as well as various small parts.

Wheels and rims should be assembled out of several parts. There are guiding elements which should help you with alignment here.

Even though external parts are molded in blue color, it is worth choosing your own color. Both parts are big, but there are alignment pins to help you get the proper fitment.

It is also good that whole front guard comes as one part and you don't have to deal with some weird gaps. The front fender is still separated into two halves, so take your time as it is one of the most visible parts on Vespa.

Chrome-plated parts look fine out of the box. Some modelers would prefer to strip and recoat them, but I think they are fine for the standard build.

Clear parts are packed separately, and molding quality looks great. There are no masks for those, so be ready to cut out your own masking stickers.

Italeri also provides metal spring, vinyl pipe length and Vespa logos on PE fret. Those should come handy for some fine features on the model.

Rubber parts are still here, and you can expect three tires, leg stand and some small bits. Tires look fine and should be easy to combine with rims.

Decals are printed in Cartograf. Overall quality looks great, and there are several license plates included. You can see two suggested colors on the photo below.

New Vespa should be already available for purchase. In my opinion it is a great choice for modelers who would like to take a break from all those typical moto subjects. Moreover, Italeri did a nice job here, and standard package looks like a fun thing to build. Big scale should also come handy for modelers who can't work with smaller bits. Don't be confused by only two markings on the box - there is an endless choice of paint options, just be sure to search for references. :)
