This article will tell you more about Zvezda 1/35 ZiL-130 (3712). Kit comes as a new-tooled release which copies the famous Soviet truck in popular scale. Real thing should be familiar to car fans, and it can be still found in some countries. Well, now we have a good chance to replicate it in popular scale. In total there are 253 parts which should assemble into a model with 19cm length. Overall packaging is typical for this brand, and each frame is sealed into separate bag. Let's open them all and take a closer look together.
By the way, here you can read review with another truck set from the same brand.

Watch this video where I show all parts even closer.
Rear section should be assembled out of separate panels. There is no wooden texture, so you will have to carefully replicate it with paintwork.
Front cab should be glued out of separate panels. Surface features look great overall. Note that doors and bonnet are separate and can be opened on your build.
In the video-review I didn't notice that, but each door should be glued out of two halves. There are guiding elements inside which will help you with this.
Main chassis bars are molded together with leaf springs, but there are some separate suspension elements too. Here you can also see wheel rims.
Each part is molded nicely and should benefit from careful weathering to bring out surface features.
Zvezda also added nicely detailed engine, which should be easy to show as we get separate bonnet. Assembly won't be difficult either, just be sure to check some references.
Clear frame is packed separately. Molding quality looks great, but there are no masks included in the kit. You will have to cut your own or wait for the aftermarket.
Decals sheet is not that big, but carries all necessary symbols for several marking options. Printing quality looks great, and you can see marking guide on the photo below.
Kit also features chrome decals for the rearview mirrors on your ZiL.
Vinyl tires are typical for this brand, but overall quality looks fine. I think those should be decent for the standard project.
Box also features the pictures of the finished model.
Assembly manual is typical for this brand. I show all pages in the video-review.
New kit should be already available for purchase. In my opinion Zvezda did a great job here and gave us a nice copy of the famous truck. There is no wonder that we will see more versions in the future, but even today's one has all the chances to turn into a fun build. I like that there are some assembly options included too as they might be handy for diorama ideas.
