This review is dedicated to fresh book - Valiant Wings Supermarine Spitfire Part 1 (Merlin-powered). As you can see, it is part of Airframe and Miniatures series, so you will get a lot of interesting info inside. Once again it is important to emphasize that book focuses only on aircraft with Merlin engine, and Seafire is included too. To say that it is handy won't communicate even half of the value of this book. Let's open it and check what is printed inside.

First I would like to show you contents page. It is typical Airframe and Miniatures layout, where you are introduced to history and then read more about scale model builds. By the way, as nice bonus modeler will also find here 1/48 drawings of the Spitfire.

Inside you will find various photos with famous aircraft. Those might be handy for diorama or weathering ideas on your model. In total there are more than 200 photos.

Another useful thing - section with profiles, which should help pick the camouflage for your aircraft if you haven't decided up to this moment. Each aircraft comes with its own history note.

Like in other books from this series, here modeler will also read about scale model builds in several scales. As you can guess, Eduard kit is featured in several articles. Walkaround photos come together with various drawings. Those are precious for modelers who like to detail their models.

Price is set at 20 GBP, and that's typical level for books from this series. In my opinion it is small amount for publication which features all necessary info about such famous airplane. If you plan to build detailed model, this is must-have. Well, for those who would like to know more this book might be worth adding too. I like the style of this book, but now what about big US aircraft? :D
You can buy this and other interesting books on official Valiant Wings website.
